A man in Putnam County, New York did a heroic act by saving his pals by making a 911 call before loosing his life in a capsized boat on the Hudson River.

According to officials the desperate SOS call made by Steven Vasta just before midnight Monday saved four of his friends trapped with him in the hull of the craft. Rescuers thus reached the boat in time to save all except Vasta who had already dead by then.

William McNamara, a County sheriff told that Steven’s presence of mind helped to save his friends, however he lost his own life in this tragic accident
