Victims another brother David Poggi who was very sad and angry with this incident said that his deceased brother was only trying to help out his younger brother who was being robbed by the men.

The police immediately spread over Woodhaven J train after the stabbing incident but no arrests were made so far.

Junior Rasul who works at Palace Fried Chicken below the platform heard the young boy screaming for help and felt that he was an innocent kid and did not look like a menace.

Queens, NY, August 2nd 2010 - It was a dream come true for Denise Gibson when he found a spacious Astoria Apartment with a terrace and lovely view of East River.

However, within few months of stay in 188-unit Pistilli Riverview East complex, the nightmare of staying there began and she has filed a case in the court.

She said that living room had a wide opening at the ceiling that leaked and bedroom began to flood with water. She said that in spite of calling the Pistilli’s management company a number of times nothing has been done.

Gibson is not the only person with such complaints about the Pistilli buildings.

Tenants and owners in Queens and Brooklyn have complained about the substandard construction and pests in the Pistilli buildings but their issues have not been solved fast.

Joseph Pistilli, co-owner of the Pistilli Realty Group has challenged the accusations saying that they haven’t ignored the tenant’s problems. Gibson one of the tenants has begged to differ to this statement and said that she would be filing a case against the Pistilli owners for harassment and not repairing things on time.

She said that if they had repaired the leaks within four to six months of the complaint they would not have landed in such a situation

She has started a blog called “The Truth about Pistilli Riverview East” that registers all the problems and is starting a tenants group.

Joseph Pistilli agreed that there were certain water problems at the previous Eagle Electric building at 19-19 24th Ave. He stated that the leaks had been recognized and would be fixed by the fall.

He further stated that some of these grievances were not legitimate and that they were not slum property owners.

About 10 properties are managed by his company in Queens, Brooklyn, and Manhattan and thus he was not aware of several of these complaints.

He states that if individuals have such troubles then they must call the office and can even directly talk to him to ensure that the problem is dealt with right away.

While many people like Daniel Cardoza living at 41-06 Case St., in Elmhurst complain that it took 2 months for the company to repair a bathroom ceiling leak. Similarly, Jesse Diaz’s cousin living at 58-35 Granger St., in Corona complains of leaks. She says that the circumstances of some apartments are horrible.

Margaret Smyth of Greenpoint, Brooklyn complains that Pistilli officials have taken three months to install window screens and doors subdividing her apartment before shifting into the Astral in the month of May.

In the meantime, her flat is infected with centipedes and cockroaches but the Pistilli officials shall not eradicate the vermin until screens are installed.

Police said that the deceased woman had been tattooed on her lower right arm and left side of the chest.

Police said that at around 2:15 a.m., in the same area, a 41-year-old man Mexican immigrant was hounded by two men named Juan Paucar and Brandon Perez from La Nortena on Roosevelt Ave. in Corona till Cortes and was beaten to death by a belt and chain. They were charged for homicide and possession of a weapon

Police said that a 20-year old man and his 18-year-old girl friend were assaulted by a mad man brandishing a knife who emerged out of a black Lincoln Town Car in front of the Forest House at Morrisania, Bronx. While the man suffered an injury in the stomach but his girl friend died at Lincoln Hospital. No arrests have been made so far.

State Farm insurance company was the homeowner’s insurane carrier for the building in question. Prior to trial, State Farm took a no pay position on this case. During trial, they offered $25,000 due to difficult liability. The trial lawyers at Frekhtman & Associates hired a weather expert, an engineer, and other experts for trial. They prepared steadfastly and received a 100% liability verdict in Queens Civil Court against the landlord for failing to throw down salt, clean the ice, or otherwise take any action. Weather records showed that at least 2-3 days passed from the last time it snowed in that area. Following the liability verdict, a damages trial ensued where an orthopedic medical doctor testified about the injuries plaintiff sustained including her diagnosis and future prognosis. After completion of the damages trial, the plaintiff was awarded a total sum of $550,000.00.
