A pedestrian struck by a car in Manhattan won a $500,000 settlement after mediation.  Frekhtman & Associates senior trial attorney, Richard Mogg, negotiated the settlement of this action which was on the trial calendar in Bronx Supreme Court about 2-3 months away from a final trial date.  Liability was strong against both cars who collided with each other in the roadway sending one of the vehicles onto the sidewalk striking the pedestrian.  Injuries included: soft tissue back injuries, torn meniscus with arthroscopic surgical procedure, and neurological treatment.   The firm was happy with this result and continues to fight for our [...]

New York - July 27th 2010 - A 45-year-old marriage photographer named Calogero Scimea was inadvertently killed in Sicily by a gunshot when he made the prospective bride Valentina Anitra, 22, and groom Ignazio Licodia, 25 pose for a photograph using rifles as props. The wedding party was horrified as one of the rifles being used as props went off hitting the photographer on his head killing him on the spot.

Bronx, New York - July 19th 2010 - Two teens drowned in an unauthorized Bronx swimming hole this Sunday. Neighbors claim that such a tragic incident happened after many of them survived near misses and broken bones.

15-year-old Cinnamin Clark said that people often jumped from the rocks to dive into the swimming hole. A young girl recently broke her arm after such an act.

Bronx, New York, July 30th 2010 - A Seven-year-old child (Maxmilio Mendez) was struck and killed by a Metropolitan Transportation Authority vehicle. He was crossing East Harlem street with his mother when this accident took place.

The accident took place at Second Avenue between 124th and 125th Streets at around 9 a.m. The truck was entering a ramp for the Robert F. Kennedy Bridge.

Victim’s mother who is pregnant - Erica Lorenzo, 35 - was rushed to Harlem Hospital and is reported to be in a serious but stable condition, police said.

A motorcyclist died on the spot when his motorcycle crashed into the building on Long Island.

Suffolk County police have said that they are investigating the accident that happened in Amityville at approximately 8 p.m on July 27, 2010.

Long Island, NY - July 27, 2010 - Police have said that 24-year-old Jorge Fernandez, of Copiague, was riding a 2003 Kawasaki motorcycle on the east of Dixon Avenue when the bike left the roadway and hit the building at 175 Dixon Ave. Fernandez was declared dead at the accident spot.

The bike was confiscated for a examination.
