Firefighter Laid to Rest Who Died Battling Brooklyn Blaze

Farewell to a hero: Lt. Richard Nappi, 47, who died fighting a fire on Monday in Brooklyn, was paid farewell by thousands of fire-fighters, his family and relatives. 11-year-old son Nicholas laid flowers on his father’s casket during his funeral.

To honour veteran fire-fighter Lt. Richard Nappi, who was killed fighting a fire in Brooklyn, a huge number of uniformed fire-fighters lined the streets of Lake Ronkonkoma.

Mayor Bloomberg told the heartbroken family at the funeral that their father was a New York hero during the city’s darkest hour, addressing Nappi’s 11-year-old son and his 12-year-old daughter.

A homely woman living in New Zealand named Natasha Harris, 30, mother of eight, died of a heart stroke in February 2010 at Invercargill. Woman died due to her habit of consuming two-gallon Coca-Cola a day, as the experts say. This deadly habit of consuming Coke might have resulted to death of that woman in New Zealand who drank two gallon Coke a day, the experts said.

McDonald’s Worker Arrested For Adding Phlegm to Sweet Tea

A McDonald’s worker was blamed of spitting phlegm into the drink of a customer in South Carolina.

A worker at McDonald in South Carolina served some Sweet Tea to a customer with a side of phlegm, the authorities said.

According to the statement given by the police to WUFF-TV, the incident happened on Saturday when a mother and her daughter observed that their tea was not sweetened and sent back their drinks in exchange for the correct order.

Hospital Sends Bronx, NY Man Home with Bullet Lodged In Neck

A shooting victim said that NYC hospital sent him home with a live bullet still lodged in his neck and instructed him to come back 4 days later to get it removed.

Ricardo Acevedo was hit with a bullet while replacing a security camera outside a Bronx convenience store. Investigators believe the shots were fired by a youth aiming for someone else.

Although doctors at St. Barnabas Hospital treated the wound he was asked to go to an affiliated clinic on Monday to get the bullet removed.

Bullets also injured two teenage girls. Police haven't made any arrests in the case so far.

16 Hurt In Funeral Procession Accident

16 people got hurt when a limousine in a funeral procession hit the wall of a Queens bodega after the driver swerved sharply to avoid another car. The funeral procession was heading towards Long Island to bury a 94-year-old woman.

The limo swerved and hit the wall of the market around 11:30 am on Saturday, seriously injuring the owner, who was treated at the scene for injuries. 15 other people were also injured, with some taken to  hospitals located nearby.

Assault on 6-year-old student - Accused Teacher Grace Peterson-Hagendorf released

A VETERAN CITY teacher was released from a Queens, NY lockup after her arraignment in the assault of a 6-year-old girl at a Flushing school.

Grace Peterson-Hagendorf, 59, is accused of pushing the 6-year-old-girl from behind, grabbing her neck, pinching and twisting it, according to Queens prosecutors.

The child was taken to a nearby hospital and is being treated for swelling and redness to her neck.

Crane on Barge Hits Brooklyn, NY Bridge

A barge carrying a crane on the East River hit the Brooklyn Bridge Monday night. The collision damaged about 20 feet of scaffolding under the deck, officials said.The accident happened shortly after 8:30 p.m. and the bridge was open to traffic again shortly before 11 p.m.

Fire officials have said that no one was hurt and that the bridge was still safe to cross.
